Musical Legend to be Honored at an Event in Los Angeles
Rolling Stones backing singer and ex Beach Boy, Blondie Chaplin, to be honored at an event to be held in Los Angeles.

South African, Blondie Chaplin, who is currently a member of the Rolling Stones backing band, will be honored at an upcoming event. From humble beginnings in Durban South Africa , to sharing the stage and contributing his musical genius to such greats as The Rolling Stones, The Beach Boys, The Byrd’s, The Band ,Bonnie Raitt and others , multi instrumentalist /vocalist Chaplin has made a major contribution to musical history.
In recognition of his musical achievements – this musical legend will receive a Lifetime Achievement award at Jorl-A-Palooza 2005 , a South African Music, Food and Dance Festival, to be held on Sunday April 17th 2005 , at Temple Bar in Santa Monica.
Joining Chaplin and his band – will be Ben Harper’s percussionist Leon Mobley and his band Da Lion and South Africa’s “Julio Iglesias” - Jose(Hugo)Fernandez. DJ Clement will also be appearing
The event is open to the public and part of the proceeds of the evening will benefit NextAid (NextAid.org) , an organization “dedicated to creating sustainable solutions for African children orphaned as a result of AIDS."
